Lejiel's Office

In the darker corners of Squad Twelve, down the hallways where the lights begin to flicker out due to being so remote that everyone seems to forget about them, a single door was present underneath one of the working lights. Nondescript, with no sign on it to signify what it was, the only sign of life inside of it would be the mechanical whizzes and buzzes one could hear through the door. The occasional scream of fear or pain helped too.

Just the way the Third Seat liked it. His office, more appropriately, his laboratory, was filled to the brim with books and all sorts of machines, workbenches and glassware, along with much more not immediately visible to the eye. Indeed, ever since getting this room he had transformed it into a mad scientist's haven.

And so, here our "hero" was, sitting at his desk which was chock full of piles of papers, all of them either schematics for an invention or a report that had to be filed. Oh how he hated doing reports...useless junk to be filled out merely for the First Squad to make themselves feel important...

Leaned back in his chair in a relaxed manner, Lejiel was currently busy reading a rather thick book titled "The Anatomy and Physiology of Bounts: The Complete Edition". A moment later, his slender tongue slithered out of his mouth to turn a page for him, the shinigami chuckling to himself after beginning to read again.

"Mm...fascinating creatures." He remarked in a low manner, the tone of which seemed rather unsettling to anyone that could've heard it. Was he getting a new idea for an invention? Probably. Was it Kosher? Not likely. Still, here the Third Seat would be until he was bothered by another, something that happened far too often for Lejiel's tastes.

Exhausted from analyzing the data he had saved from the incident with the invaders not long ago Sai wondered off to a dark spot in the labs and found a nice cozy spot between two servers to catch a quick cat nap. In his arms he held one of the precious machines he had managed to save by the skin of his teeth. Just as he was falling asleep he started hearing chuckles coming from somewhere. Every time he was about ready to slip into a small coma from his exhaustion he was interupted by this rumbling chuckle.

Refusing to be interrupted once more Sai's eyes opened wide. He slammed his fist into the side of the server embedding his fist into the machine. "I SAID BE QUIET!" (he had said nothing he was just tired.) He stood up and decided to check out the laughter. Wondering down a hallway he aproached a door slightly ajar and knocked as he peeked his head in. "Helooooo"

"What is it, then get out." Lejiel flatly said as he turned another page with the tip of his tongue. He was rather comfortable in the position he was in, so he didn't even bother to turn and look at the intruder. Probably was just one of the unseated members giving him something useless like another report.

"What is it, then get out."

Sai's reaitsu flared for just a moment it was an very cold threatening energy. He got a hold of himself as quickly as he could. But not before the door burst open due to the sudden flash of energy. Holding his hand over his face. Only one eye could be seen beneath his hand it was searching for whoever was inside. "Oh Lejiel its you" Sai said politely "would you....keep...it...down." He was now relaxing a little he returned to his usual slightly hunched over position with his arms dangling at his side. He looked around the room it was dark and dreary room filled to the brim with machines and the such. "Hmm cool set up you got here." He looked over to one of the machines "Nice is this an XG5"

Great. It was HIM, the Vice Captain. Sai, he called himself, if Lejiel remembered right. The man seemed like such a bumbling idiot, but Lejiel did hold a small bit of respect for his intelligence when he showcased it. Very small, but still there nonetheless.

"Are you going to pay for my new door?" He remarked in a matter of fact manner. Being interrupted in his research, and for no real reason on top of that...the third seat was not in a pleasant mood right now. His serpentine eyes were locked onto the Vice Captain, almost in a predator-like gaze.

"Please." He paused. "Don't insult me. XG7, state of the art. I always keep my machines up to date." He stated, putting the thick book on top of some of the papers on the desk. Would be impossible to read any further with the other man in the room anyways.

"Is that all then, Vice Captain?" Another cold remark, with a twinge of sarcasm at the end. Truth be told, Lejiel actually wondered if the man would even get the hint that he was not welcome. Somehow, he doubted it.

"Are you going to pay for my new door?"


Sai looked over at the door now standing with a small crack and only hanging on two hinges. Hmm it didnt look good but Sai hated to alocate funds to anything unrelated to his projects. He walked over and grabbed the handle. Forced it shut as it creeked and moaned. Then opened it up again a few splinters breaking off this time. "What are we rich. See its fine"

"Don't insult me. XG7, state of the art. I always keep my machines up to date." "XG7 you say i didnt know those things were out yet." Wait a minute. Who payed for that. Sai leaned against the wall and tipped his head back. The room was warm just like the spot he had picked to sleep. He started to nod off again.

"Is that all then, Vice Captain?" Sai woke back up again. Good yes he hadnt noticed me falling asleep. "Uhh yes just get back to fuckin work.....Lacky"

Letting out a clearly annoyed sigh, Lejiel broke his gaze on the man, then picked up his book on Bounts once again and continued reading.

"I was in the middle of my research before you interrupted me, O' Vice Captain. So if you would, kindly let me get back to work?" He replied, his words sounding like a honest request to his superior.

In truth, he was almost seething with hatred for the man right now, but Lejiel wasn't stupid. He wasn't going to outright disrespect the chain of command in an instance where he could gain nothing from it. Besides, he'd get even, he always did.

Insufferable buffoon. Breaks into my room and tells ME to get back to work, and then insults me...Oh you'll pay one day. Lejiel thought to himself as he waited for the Vice Captain to leave.
